In the corporate world, time is money. This is even more true if you are a small business, particularly one that is still in its early stages.
Employees being late for work can affect morale and productivity amongst the staff. It also leaves a backlog of work that needs to be done. This may result in people rushing to do what they need to do on time. The outcome of this is that the quality if the work is of a lower level than it should be.
The issue of timekeeping also applies to orders and deliveries. If you work in a business that trades in stock and product, then you need supplies to arrive when they should. If the stock shows up late, it can leave clients and consumers disappointed and less likely to return in the future.
Furthermore, poor time management can result in loss of money. If staff members are late then they get paid for work, they aren’t doing and so the business is losing out.
Part of the timekeeping scope of the company is the Official Business.
Defined, Official Business is often applied for any work done outside the walls of the office; most relevant to employees who regularly work-from-home or those who are required to work remotely.
Through Sprout HR and Payroll or the web-based attendance and payroll software, filing for Official Business trips are made easier.
Filing an Official Business (OB) is akin to filing a Certificate of Attendance (COA). The main difference is that the OB is filed as proof for when an employee does his work outside the walls of the office. The COA, meanwhile, serves as proof that the employee reported for work on a certain day, only that some mishap may have happened with the biometric device. Furthermore, an approved COA reflects on the Attendance Management page, while an approved OB does not. However, an approved OB is equivalent to biologs for any given day.
You can easily file for OB through Sprout HR, and the request will go to your supervisor immediately. Here are the two ways on how you can do it:
