As Benjamin Franklin wrote in his essay, "time is money", the ultimate benefit of timekeeping relates to money, either being able to bring more of it or else, stop its leakage. Proper timekeeping contributes significantly to your company's overall success and longevity.

Another part of the timekeeping scope of the company is the filing of the Certificate of Attendance.

This was previously known as the application for no bio when the company was still using Payruler then.

Nowadays, the company uses Sprout HR and Payroll.

Sprout HR & Payroll is a web-based attendance and payroll software. Sprout HR & Payroll offers an easier, faster, and more accurate way to manage payroll processes.

On Sprout HR, Certificate of Attendance and Official Business serve the same function--to act in place of biometric logs. Although they operate in the same way, there are specific scenarios wherein one application type is more appropriate than the other.

To differentiate the two:

Official Business: often applied for any work done outside the walls of the office; most relevant to employees who regularly work-from-home or those who are required to work remotely.

While the Certificate of Attendance serves as proof that the employee reported for work on a certain day, but something went wrong with the biometric device.

You can easily file for Certificate of Attendance (COA) through Sprout HR, and the request will go to your supervisor immediately. The COA replaces biologs on days when an employee either forgest or is unable to manually log into the system via the biometric device.

There are two ways to file a COA. Let's take a closer look at these two below:
